Last Tuesday, Phil and I went to Ms. Emma's Farm with some of our friends for lunch. Ms Emma is a Philippino woman who owns many acres of farm land. She has trees of all sort of tropical fruits, local and not, vegetables, flowers, orchids, and a shrimp farm. We walked and drove around and got to pick some fruits from the trees. We found what we though was a tangerine tree, until we popped a piece into our mouths... it was a Jamaican Lime tree... tart! Offtah! Ms Emma and her workers made a lunch of fried bread fruit, that was like a potato chip, egg rolls, and then shrimp and pork chops for the main course. Also fresh pina colodas too. Way too much food, but you can walk it off in the beautiful gardens.

What beautiful photos Vicki! Even with a couple of warmer days here in the "tundra" I am extremly jealous of the greenery and blooms! I will be dreaming of working in my gardens tonight after looking at these!
My sister and I are Minnesotans. In march of last year we were volunteer farming at a beautiful place in the Mayan mountains off of Hummingbird Hwy. Mike the owner of the place has been really great friends with Ms Emma for 30 years now. One nice day that wasn't too hot he drove us over to her farm and wow!! I think she owns 2400 acres of exotic flowers, 100's of different types of fruits. The custard apple was the favorite for my sis and I. Being that Mike and Emma are friends we got to explore the entire property for free along with a Huge lunch that was cooked to perfection...also free. All in all a wonderful experience. The shrimp farm was cool..massive, Many pools. we drove for miles upon miles through her property seemed never ending. Got to pIck all the fruit we wanted, The Mullberry's were very tasty. Drinking coconuts by the dozen when the temp finally got up into the high 90's with 100% humidity. Her house is huge, square completely made out of wood with three levels, personal chefs, and we got a tour of it at the end of the day. Lots of pictures of her with Big time celebs, Important leaders of various countrys, a whole mix of people. Fantastic Trip!
Beautiful with the mountains off in the distance! Going back next year, only getting down there Is quite the long haul. Fly into Cancun, not Belize city because of too much crime and kidnappings. 5 hour bus ride to Chetumal Mexico, hour bus to Belmopan "Capital of Belize" then 50 minute bus ride to the 25 mile marker. Hidden Valley Falls. Takes showers in a beautiful waterfall right on Mikes property. Check it out!
