On Sunday Phil and I went to Glenwood Springs Colorado. Its about a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from Meeker. It is a must place to stop when you come to Colorado! There is a lot of history and, vapor caves and this hot springs pool. It is filled and heated by the natural hot springs water. Water is added to cool it and they do use chlorine, but it is filled with minerals. It is HUGE... and its hottest on the east end (the therapy pool) and cools as it gets deeper and flows west.
The old bath house is now a spa....
I did not drink the water.... Very neat!
the historic Hotel Colorado. Built in 1893A view from the walking bridge of the hot springs bath house. Behind it is the lodge hotel
the top of the Hotel Colorado
I love the red rock mountain sides
Lots of breweries in Colorado! I had the Hanging Lake Honey Ale and Phil had the Vapor Cave IPA
The Amtrak station in Glenwood.Looking down from the walking bridge at the (I believe) the Colorado River
The pool and slides from the walking bridge
The pool and water slides. First built in 1895.
Glenwood is also where Doc Holliday died from TB in 1887. His grave is here too.
I love the movie Tombstone... Val Kilmer... sigh....
